Here is the latest news from David Gans, producer and host of the Grateful Dead Hour.
Grateful Dead Hour no. 1405
Support for the Grateful Dead Hour comes from Lockn’ Music Festival in Arrington, Virginia, where the long strange trip continues for Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh & Bob Weir. See Mickey Hart with EOTO on the Main Stage and curating “Deep Rhythm Experience” sets in the LOCKN’ Woods. Bill Kreutzmann plays with Billy and the Kids and sits in with Jorma and Jack during their Jefferson Airplane 50th Anniversary celebration. Phil Lesh and Friends plays twice, once featuring Chris Robinson, and again with Carlos Santana and Warren Haynes. Bob Weir is the Featured Artist of the Day on Saturday so expect surprising collaboration. For tickets and info, visit locknfestival.com.
Kickstarter alert: “It’s a Hand-Me-Down”

Proposed cover design by Harry Choron
I have launched a Kickstarter campaign to complete and release It’s a Hand-Me-Down, a studio CD of my “solo electric” interpretations of Grateful Dead songs.
The campaign will be active until September 19. There are various levels of participation (starting at $5) with various thank-you gifts for larger contributions.
