Sycamore Slough @ TRI Studios 4/26
Sycamore Slough String Band performs live at TRI Studios Thursday, April 26 at 7pm Pacific time. FREE webcast!
Sycamore Slough String Band is an acoustic quartet founded on a mutual love of Grateful Dead music. Instigator David Gans had the brilliant idea of holding the band’s first rehearsals in a recording studio in order to capture the magic that everyone knew would transpire. The song list has already jumped the fence into other works, but the repertoire will remain Dead-centric for the most part. The Dead’s “concerted sense of quest” informs SSSB’s musical interactions, and a powerful vocal ensemble rides high atop those grooves. First Rehearsals is a little rough around the edges, as first rehearsals tend to be, but the ground has been broken on what is already proving to be a fertile and fruitful musical collaboration.
David Gans – guitar and vocals
David Thom – mandolin, guitar and vocals
Fiddle Dave Muhlethaler – fiddle, mandolin and vocals
Roger Sideman – bass
