Here is the latest news from David Gans, producer and host of the Grateful Dead Hour.

Hillary has become a Republican

The results of the Indiana primary may have rendered it moot, but Hillary Clinton lost me for good when George Stephanopoulos asked her to name a single economist who thinks a “gas tax holiday” would work, and she replied: “I’m not going to put my lot in with economists.” This country is in terrible, terrible condition on so many fronts after seven years of rule by an ideologue/numbskull who ignored reality and siphoned zillions of dollars to cronies and parasites. Clinton’s embrace of know-nothingdom is the final nail in the coffin of her credibility as a politician and as a citizen. Obama’s victory in North Carolina yesterday was predicted; Indiana was supposed to be Clinton’s by some greater or lesser margin. She won Indiana, but not by much. The Clinton spinmeisters have moved the goal posts so many times there isn’t any place to sink ’em in any more, but by pretty much any measure, the outcome of the Indiana primary should put the race to an end. Let’s hope she has the decency to quit now so we can get on with the business of preventing a third Bush term.

Keller Williams releases REX for Rex

This is the official press release on REX, the download-only collection of GD covers by Keller Wiliams, Jeff Austin, and Keith Moseley, released to benefit the Rex Foundation. You’ll hear “One More Saturday Night” and “Bird Song” from this release on GD Hour #1026, week of May 19.

WILLIAMS RELEASES REX (LIVE AT THE FILLMORE):
A GRATEFUL GRASS PERFORMANCE FEATURING WILLIAMS, KEITH MOSELEY, AND JEFF AUSTIN

THE DIGITAL ONLY RELEASE WILL BENEFIT THE REX FOUNDATION

Guitarist/singer/songwriter Keller Williams offers up a live, digital-only release titled REX (Live at the Fillmore). The recording captures a very special live performance by Grateful Grass – a project featuring Williams, Keith Moseley (The String Cheese Incident), and Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band) – performing not-so-traditional bluegrass versions of Grateful Dead favorites. The collection, recorded February 8, 2006 at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium, is available now at itunes and other digital retail outlets. 100% of the proceeds from REX (Live at the Fillmore) will go to benefit the Rex Foundation, the charitable non-profit started by the Grateful Dead which gives grants to worthwhile causes.

REX track list:
01 One More Saturday Night
02 Mississippi Half Step Uptown Toodeloo
03 Eyes Of The World
04 Candyman
05 Loose Lucy
06 Black Peter
