Performers include Donna the Bufalo, the Sam Bush Band, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice, New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Duhks, The Waybacks, David Gans, and many many more. The band Great Caesar’s Ghost, offering its new release One More Ride, which includes original music and interpretations of the Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, and many blues greats as well as a guest appearance by guitarist G.E. Smith. Great Caesar’s Ghost sample audio tracks and more information are available at www.greatcg.com
So here is a sideways analogy with Dave starting the latest show with TJed (with no disrespect intended for any of the folks who were personally effected by the tragedy at WTC):
Dropped four flights and cracked my spine – honey come quick with the iodine.
You know, they were running through one of the firehouse crew memories about their fellow firefighters that perished. The remaing crew were giving a little snapshot comment about each one – things like, “best joker” or “classic Irishman”. Then they came to one guy and each of the crew members said, “OUR Grateful Dead fan – he really loved their music.”
There is a ton of politically connected stuff about the attack – someday it might be sorted out – maybe not. But it was really cool to see that little touch of “we are everywhere”…… there.
