Mark Karan to appear on DTTW 4/18

Mark Karan, guitarist of Ratdog and leader of Jemimah Puddleduck, will be my guest on KPFA’s Dead to the World Wednesday, April 18, 8-10pm. We’ll listen to some highlights from Ratdog’s spring tour, check out some Puddleduck, take some calls, and maybe even get a taste of a recording project he’s been working on. KPFA webcasts, and our sister station KFCF in Fresno webcasts, too.

If you have a question or comment for Mark, post it here and I’ll bring it with me to the station on game day.

  1. What is the strangest thing a fan has ever said to you?
How about an update for the work you are doing with the Guitarman music score?

  5. I don’t understand why people will come to the rail at a Ratdog show and then attempt to chat with each other over the waterfall of music. I don’t understand why people hoot and whistle during the silences in delicate songs like Stella Blue and a cappella Attics of My Life. Please discuss the effect this has on you personally and on the band, both in the moment at a show while you’re onstage and as an ongoing issue in general. As more and more people come for the party and not for the music, do you have any ideas or thoughts to share that might help improve the situation?

  6. There are some good questions here, and I don’t really have much to add, except it would be great if MK and friends were to have a little group of northeast dates…anything like that in the future…

Also, I’d like to put a thread on Ratdog.org with your name in the thread title due to the pink ribbon on your site….There is a thread that says Robert Hunter says click a day saves an animal….I’d like to start one that says MK says a click a day provides a free mammogram for those in need? But I would never use your name without asking….

Thanks Clare the one with the big big smile riding the rail w my BF…
