Jewels and Binoculars is a jazz trio that plays Bob Dylan songs. Bob covered “Jackaroe” on World Gone Wrong, so it qualifies. Ships With Tattooed Sails features guitarist Bill Frisell on several tracks, including a magnificent reading of “Blind Willie McTell.” I met Lindsey on a recording session last summer: Tim Carbone brought him in to play bass on half a dozen songs for my soon-to-be-released CD The Ones That Look the Weirdest Taste the Best. I was knocked out by Lindsey’s playing, and really impressed with the Jewels and Binoculars CD.
