The Piano in Egypt

The legend of the Grateful Dead Egypt 1978 tapes was that “the piano was out of tune.”

Here’s a piece of an interview I did with John Cutler recently in which he addresses that question.

The full interview – including John’s tale of attempting to wire up the King’s Chamber to use as a reverb tank for the gigs – will appear in an upcoming Grateful Dead Hour.

  1. Interesting commentary from Cutler on this piece of GD lore. I’ll look forward to hearing more of the interview and the details of the King’s Chamber project. The Great Pyramid is certainly a fascinating monument and, of course, the Grateful Dead has a place in its history!
