Sunday, December 21st, marks the Winter Solstice – the darkest day of the year – an event that the Grateful Dead Channel will celebrate with a 24-hour Dark Star marathon. That’s right: a full day (and long night) of programming dominated by the Grateful Dead’s deepest, bravest quest into the musical unknown. We’ll feature great live versions of “Dark Star,” and some of the jams that grew out of it, from all phases of the song’s performance history.
The December 21st edition of “Tales From The Golden Road” (airing from 4-6 pm ET, with an encore broadcast Monday at 9 am ET) will continue the theme, as hosts David Gans and Gary Lambert explore the mysteries of “Dark Star,” with listeners and special guests joining the discussion. The number to call if you’d lik to participate is 888-897-4748.
The Dark Star Marathon airs Sunday, December 21, from midnight to midnight Eastern Time, on the Grateful Dead Channel on Sirius/XM Radio. The Grateful Dead Channel can be found at Sirius channel 32 or XM channel 57.

Hey Now Gans, Lambert, etc.
First, let me say thank you for the DARKSTAR marathon. I am a XM subscriber. I really wanted to thank whomever retitled the Darkstars with the dates. I see that the dates can be done, we must continue the effort to get all tracks listed with the dates. Again, thanks and keep up the good work. We look forward to some other special treats in the future.
Peace,
Brian
