Rubber Souldiers in Berkeley tonight

From today’s SF Chronicle:

The Rubber Souldiers Revue

Today @ Ashkenaz: They may not have mop tops, but these fab five musicians do know how to come together and carry the weight of reinterpreting the Beatles – without being just another cover band. Led by Oakland’s David Gans on guitar and vocals, Paul Knight on bass, CC Dawson on drums and with brothers Lorin and Chris Rowan on guitar, vocals and mandolin, the Rubber Souldiers can knock on “Norwegian Wood” and other Beatle classics with emphasis on harmony and improvised guitar leads. 9 p.m., $10, all ages. 1317 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley. (510) 525-5054. www.ashkenaz.com.

We played live on KPFA’s “Sing Out!” last night. Archived here – starts about half an hour in.

  1. Nice one hour “unplugged” set on “Sing Out!”. I had a chance to listen to the archive today and enjoyed it very much:
