The Wheel is available as a download or on CD, proceeds going to the Rex Foundation, which was the host and beneficiary of the live concert where it was recorded last December. The David Nelson Band tracks on this set are spectacular; I’ll get some of that music on the air soon, too.
Jamasutra is a French band featuring California guitarist Barry “The Fish” Melton. Check out this this nice article on Melton from the San Francisco Chronicle last month.
We’ll hear the entirety of this 9/15/90 GD concert over the next few weeks. This was Vince Welnick‘s first tour as the GD’s keyboardist, and the first gig of Bruce Hornsby‘s guest stint as pianist with the band.
The Grateful Dead Hour is made possible in part this week by:
Amarra, the ultrafidelity computer music player for all music enthusiasts. Designed using the same technology in use today by record companies worldwide, Amarra is praised for delivering an analog-like sound from any digital source. More information and demo versions of the software are available at amarraaudio.com
Lore Constantine, presenting her solo piano albums Piano Expressions and Piano Impressions, with music by the Grateful Dead (including Terrapin Station, Mountains of the Moon, China Doll) as well as songs from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, and more, plus original compositions. Lore Constantine’s music is available on CD or download at iTunes and CD Baby.
