TRUCKIN’->
JAM
Peter Lavezzoli is a drummer I first met and jammed with in south Florida, where he plays with a wonderful Deadish band called Crazy Fingers. He also plays with Melvin Seals’ JGB these days, and since he’s dividing his time between Florida and the Bay Area, we get to play together from time to time. Peter is also a prolific poster on DeadNet Central, where he has delivered lengthy and articulate reviews of all the shows in the boxed set Europe ’72: The Complete Recordings. I interviewed Peter for a book project I’m working on (about which more later), and I liked his description of the 4/16/72 Aarhus show enough to share it with you here.
BTW Peter has also published an excellent book, The Dawn of Indian Music in the West, with a foreword by Ravi Shankar.
