Live Dead ’69 is a new supergroup that’s already done a couple of tours and will be on the circuit this summer. This edition of the band included half of Ratdog – Mark Karan on guitar, Robin Sylvester on bass, and Jay Lane on drums. Also on board are former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten and guitarist Slick Aguilar, who was part of the late Paul Kantner’s Starship lineup for many years.
The Skull & Roses Festival was three-day event at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, where the Grateful Dead played many times in the 1980s. The tribe was gathering at this site in July 1986 when the news came down that Jerry Garcia was in a diabetic coma…
Support for the Grateful Dead Hour comes this week from The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The Disco Biscuits return to The Cap on April 27, 28 and 29 to perform their signature trance-fusion. With the killer laser light show that they are known for, The Cap will be ready to blast off into outer-space. Events, information, and ticketing at thecapitoltheatre.com.
