The latest GarciaLive release, volume 12 in the series, is Jerry Garcia and Merl Saunders at the Boarding House in San Francisco, recorded January 23, 1973 and mixed from the multitrack masters. You don’t hear her in this particular song, but vocalist Sarah Fulcher is in the band for this show, and her contributions are most unusual! According to Jesse Jarnow’s liner notes, Fulcher was tossed into the musical stew with no rehearsal! It’s interesting to listen to this record with that in mind. You can find GarciaLive volume 12 at garciafamilyprovisions.com.

Support for the Grateful Dead Hour comes this week from The Capitol Theatre and Garcia’s in Port Chester, New York. On Thursday, February 6, the spirit of the Grateful Dead and the music of New Orleans will be honored at the Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball 2020 with Voodoo Dead – Steve Kimock, Jeff Chimenti, George Porter, Jr., Al Schnier and John Morgan Kimock. Phil Lesh celebrates his 80th Birthday March 13, 14, and 15, with various lineups of old and new friends. And every Wednesday is Grateful Dead night at Garcia’s.
