Not long ago I was watching a old episode of The Ed Sullivan Show on one of the nostalgia channels, and I saw the Rolling Stones doing “Lett’s Spend the Night Together” – and because it was the mid-’60s and our culture was still fairly early in the process of loosening up, Mick Jagger was forced to sing “Let’s Spend Some Time Together.” You should have seen the look on his face! Anyway, this lively performance is from GarciaLive volume 13, recorded in Illinois on September 16, 1989 and featuring the JGB joined by the amazing Clarence Clemons (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band) on saxophone! GarciaLive 13 is available now from garciafamilyprovisions.com.
