Suwannee Springfest lineup taking shape…
Magnolia Music has been a supporter of the GD Hour for a decade. Plus, they put on two great events every year. I’m in the lineup for this festival, too – my favorite venue! – DG
Dear Festival Folks:
My Granny used to say “Live and Learn – If you’re lucky!” and one thing we’ve learned in the last two weeks is never ever put an exact date on when our lineup will be announced. It’s just asking for a delay, and that’s what happened. And in case inquiring minds want to know, there was never anything seriously wrong, it was just the paperwork technical legal delays of bands, booking agents, managers, and us! But we’re good to go now, so get ready because we think it was well worth any waiting!
Suwannee Springfest 2007!
We’ve got some new to us artist to share with you, like Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ollabelle, The Infamous Stringdusters, Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, the everybodyfields, and Scythian.
We’ve got Four Days of Donna the Buffalo and Three Days of Duhks!
Peter Rowan heads the list of many other of our festival favorites like Tony Rice, Jim Lauderdale, Joe Craven, Blueground Undergrass, The Lee Boys, Roy Book Binder and a whole lot more.
Please welcome back artists like Jorma Kaukonen, Darrell Scott, The Avett Brothers, Crooked Still, Will Kimbrough, and Seth Walker.
We’ve got a couple more bands we’re working on and we’ll let you know when and if they get confirmed. But for now, go to the lineup page and enjoy!

Glide magazine features Rock the Earth
I am on the advisory board of Rock the Earth, an organization devoted to “Defending the planet one beat a time.” We’d love it if you would join up. – DG
Here’s an excerpt from a new Glide Magazine article about RTE:
You’ve likely seen the smiling faces behind the Rock the Earth booth at numerous shows and festivals across the nation. An environmental advocacy organization born from and serving the music community, Rock the Earth was founded by environmental attorney Marc Ross in 2002. With a staff of volunteers recruited from the music community, the projects upon which the legal and technical staff work are suggested by artists and their fans. Outreach, education, canvassing and membership solicitation is done in conjunction with the music community — at concerts and festivals throughout North America. Glide recently had a chance to speak with Ross, executive Director of Rock the Earth.
