Dead to the World Feb 8

I’m on the road, so Tim Lynch and Phil Osegueda will host Dead to the World this week – and they’ll be taking over Lary Kelp’s Sing Out time slot from 10 pm til midnight, too. Here’s what they have on tap:

Join us Wed. night February 8 on KPFA FM for some special programming in support of the station’s Winter Fund Drive.

From 8pm -10pm Pacific Time on Dead to the World it’s “4 Bay Area Jambands: Tea Leaf Green, ALO, Hot Buttered Rum, and New Monsoon.” We’ll feature music from their latest studio releases as well as some live recordings from 2005. These bands represent the best of what some are calling “The New San Francisco Sound.”

From 10pm-12 midnight Pacific Time on Sing Out it’s “Somethings Old & Somethings New” featuring new music from Yonder Mountain String Band, Derek Trucks and David Gans, and older (but newly) remastered music The Planet Earth Rock & Roll Orchestra, and early Jefferson Starship will be added to the mix.

KPFA is broadcast on 94.1 FM in the Bay Area, 88.1FM (on KFCF) in the Fresno area, and on kpfa.org and kfcf.org everywhere else. Turn on, tune in, DONATE!

  1. And some of the other some might suggest that all the permutations of The Mother Hips join DTTW one evening this year.

First you have got the main band. Then you have avenues such as The Sensations. The Ball Point Birds (mas fina) and even at the wooden box + strings + voice= Tim Bluhm. They would have a wonderful time in the KPFA studio and would serve the “voice of the people” very well. Just ask ’em!
